This Class List specifies all Race Classes in which there may be a Race on an AMRA Race Day.  At the discretion of the AMRA Race Official on Race Day, any class which does not have four Registered Riders may be deleted from the list.  This specifications list is merely a guide, complete rules available at the Canadian Motorcycle Association website

Understanding Our Classes

Our classes can be split up multiple ways:

Championship vs. Non-Championship (Club) Classes

Championship classes are CMA-sanctioned classes where a Provincial and/or National championship will be awarded. We also run some club classes that are just for fun and growing the sport. There’s no title awarded for club classes; just bragging rights.

Spec vs. Formula Classes

Spec classes allow for only minimal modifications. Basically the bike has to be as-it-was when it left the factory. You can change the tires, gearing, and make adjustments for safety (e.g. sliders, safety wiring), but performance improvements are generally prohibited. With formula classes, modifications are pretty much limited only by your wallet.

Supersport vs. Thunder Classes

Supersport classes are for sport-style motorcycles. Thunder classes are for dirt-bike-style motorcycles.

Intermediate vs. Expert Classes

Some you need an Intermediate license; some require an expert license.

We also run a handful of age-based classes: Spec Under 21, Spec Over 21, Formula Under 21, Formula Over 21.

We are currently assessing classes for larger bikes. The club used to have a Small Sport Bike class (up to 400cc), but it hasn’t run in a long time.
